Ingredients

1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

2 cups whole milk

1/2 tsp black pepper (or to taste)

1/4 tsp salt (adjust as needed)

1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

1 can (8 count) refrigerated biscuits

1 tbsp butter (melted, for brushing)

Fresh chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked. Do not drain the fat.
  2. Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir for 1 minute.
  3. Gradually pour in milk, stirring constantly until smooth.
  4. Season with pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes. Simmer until thickened, about 5–7 minutes.
  5. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish and pour the gravy in evenly.
  6. Cut biscuits into halves or quarters and place on top of the gravy.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
  8. Brush with melted butter, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
