2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Blueberry Compote:
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
1 tsp lemon juice
For the Glaze (Optional):
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1–2 tbsp milk
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Activate Yeast: Dissolve yeast in warm milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Mix Dough: In a large bowl, combine sugar, melted butter, egg, and salt. Stir in yeast mixture. Gradually add flour and knead until smooth.
- Let Dough Rise: Cover the bowl and let dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Cook Blueberry Compote: Simmer blueberries and sugar until juicy. Add lemon juice and cornstarch slurry. Stir until thickened. Cool.
