Ingredients

1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey), cooked and crumbled

8 large eggs

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup cottage cheese

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 can refrigerated crescent rolls (or crescent dough sheet)

Optional: chopped green onions or chives for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook sausage in a skillet over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Unroll crescent dough into the baking dish, pressing it into the bottom and sealing seams.
  4. Layer cooked sausage evenly over the dough.
  5. Sprinkle 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese on top of the sausage.
  6. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, cottage cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  7. Pour egg mixture over sausage and cheese layers.
  8. Top with remaining 1/2 cup cheddar cheese.
  9. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until center is set and top is golden.
  10. Let cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with green onions or chives if desired.
