1 cup whole milk

¼ cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup semisweet chocolate chips

¼ cup heavy cream

1 tablespoon butter

1 teaspoon corn syrup (optional, for shine)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Choux Pastry Base

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, heat water and butter over medium heat until the butter melts.
  3. Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and stir in flour until the dough forms a ball.

  4. Whip heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold whipped cream into the pudding mixture until fully combined.

Step 3: Assemble the Cake

  1. Spread the cream filling evenly over the cooled choux pastry base.
  2. Smooth out the surface with an offset spatula or the back of a spoon.
  3. Refrigerate while preparing the chocolate topping.

Step 4: Make the Chocolate Topping

  1. Heat heavy cream in a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl until warm but not boiling.
  2. Stir in chocolate chips, butter, and corn syrup, mixing until smooth.
