Ingredients
12 oz penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
3 cups broccoli florets (fresh or frozen)
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk (preferably whole)
1 cup heavy cream
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Extra Parmesan and cracked pepper for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta and Broccoli: Boil penne in salted water until al dente. Add broccoli florets during the last 3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- Sauté the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high. Add chicken, season with salt and pepper, and cook until golden and done. Remove and set aside.
- Prepare the Sauce Base: In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté garlic for 30 seconds. Stir in flour and whisk for 1 minute.
