2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 sleeve buttery round crackers (like Ritz), crushed

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

2 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Cooking spray or melted butter (for crisping)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Pound chicken breasts to an even thickness and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. In three separate shallow dishes: mix crushed crackers with garlic powder, salt, and pepper; place shredded cheddar in the second; and whisk eggs with milk in the third.
  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg wash, coat with cheddar cheese, then press into cracker mixture to form a crust.
