Ingredients

1.5 to 2 lbs chuck roast or beef shoulder, slow-cooked and shredded

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 small onion (optional), thinly sliced

810 slices provolone cheese

12 slider buns (sesame seed topped preferred)

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter, melted

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional: Worcestershire sauce or beef broth


Instructions

  1. Slow cook beef with seasoning and optional Worcestershire sauce or broth for 6–8 hours on low or 4–5 on high. Shred once cooked.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté bell peppers and onions until softened (5–7 minutes).
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice buns in half horizontally. Place bottoms in a baking dish.
  4. Layer shredded beef, sautéed peppers/onions, and provolone cheese over bottom buns.
  5. Cover with top buns. Mix melted butter with garlic powder and brush over tops.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 5–7 minutes until cheese melts and tops are golden.
