Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon chili powder

Salt and black pepper to taste

1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped


Instructions

  1. Heat the Skillet – In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil and let it warm up.
  2. Cook the Ground Turkey – Add the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon. Cook for 5-6 minutes until browned, then remove and set aside.
  3. Sauté the Aromatics – In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  4. Cook the Sweet Potatoes – Add the diced sweet potatoes and chicken broth. Stir, cover, and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until tender.
  5. Season the Dish – Sprinkle in smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Stir to coat evenly.
  6. Combine Everything – Return the cooked turkey to the skillet and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes. Add red pepper flakes if desired.
  7. Garnish and Serve – Turn off the heat and top with freshly chopped parsley. Let it sit for a minute before serving. Enjoy!
