Ingredients
1 cup (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling)
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
15–18 whole Oreo cookies (for stuffing)
Optional: crushed Oreos or mini chocolate chips for topping
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat cream cheese with 1/4 cup of sugar until smooth. Scoop into small balls and freeze for 30 minutes.
- Cream butter with remaining 1 cup of sugar. Add egg and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Combine with wet mixture.
- Flatten about 1 1/2 tbsp of dough, place a frozen cheesecake ball in the center, and seal.
- Roll dough ball in granulated sugar.
- Place on parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes.
- Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to wire rack.
