Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, diced

2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni or pasta of choice

1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce

1/4 cup ketchup

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese

Optional: chopped parsley for garnish


Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onions are tender. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let simmer 5–7 minutes.
  4. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and stir until evenly coated.
  5. Transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle cheese over the top.
  6. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
