Ingredients
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni or pasta of choice
1 (15 oz) can tomato sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cups shredded cheddar or mozzarella cheese
Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onions are tender. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Let simmer 5–7 minutes.
- Add cooked pasta to the skillet and stir until evenly coated.
- Transfer to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle cheese over the top.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.
