8 medium golden delicious apples, peeled, cored, and sliced

1/2 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup butter, cut into pieces

2 tsp cornstarch (optional)

2 tbsp water (optional, for cornstarch mixture)


Instructions
